Something about Sundays

I love Sundays. Even when I’m working, I love Sundays.

I think it’s because life stops on Sunday. On Sundays, I get to do the breakfast dishes while the parents of children with special needs drink coffee and then race their precious ones to the flying fox. On Sundays, I get to buy a hot chicken and some croissants and feed whoever comes into my house. On Sundays, I get to sit in my office and watch families get to know each other again simply by being. On Sundays, I get to be reminded that living is more important then doing.

So I will jealously guard my Sundays. I will eat apples all day and cook lasange for dinner, and I will stop. Because that’s what God commanded us to do.

“Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most men throw away.”
